The 2026 Met Gala is poised to welcome a bevy of artists, public figures and high-profile celebrities to the red carpet and iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May. Apart from the famous co-chairs and host committee members, there are a few extra attendees WWD hopes will bring their fashion game to the famous event.
Mother-daughter duos at the Met Gala aren’t a new fad. In fact, Kate Moss and her daughter Lila have hit the red carpet a few times, along with other famous mother-daughter pairs like Tracee Ellis Ross and Diana Ross, Kris Jenner and her daughters and even Anna Wintour and her daughter Bee Carrozzini (née Shaffer).
WWD breaks down the wishlist for mother-daughter duos at the 2026 Met Gala ahead.

As a co-chair for the event, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is guaranteed to attend the 2026 Met Gala — her first time on the iconic steps in 10 years. Over the course of the last several years, the Grammy Award-winning artist has turned several red carpets into a family affair, most notably including her 14-year-old eldest daughter Blue Ivy into the fold. While the two attended the 2025 Grammy Awards together, their last red carpet moment was in December 2024 at the “Mufasa: The Lion King” premiere in Los Angeles.

Also a co-chair for the 2026 Met Gala, Nicole Kidman has slowly introduced her teenage daughters at public events, with both Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, attending “The Hours” Oscar winner’s AFI Life Achievement celebration in April 2024. It’s Sunday Rose, however, that could have the best chance of making an appearance on the Met Gala red carpet.
The teenager is already an established model, hitting the runway for Dior and Miu Miu and attending the front row of Balenciaga’s fall 2024 couture show with her famous mom. Attending the Met Gala could be her greatest foray into fashion yet.

Zoë Kravitz is among the co-chairs for the host committee at the 2026 Met Gala, having attended the annual event several times dating back to her first appearance on the red carpet in 2014. While it’s not too often “The Batman” star is joined by her famous mom Lisa Bonet on the red carpet, it has happened enough that a potential mother-daughter moment at the 2026 Met Gala might happen.
With both of their unique sense of style — Bonet channeling more bohemian energy, while Kravitz caters to high fashion moments often sourced from Saint Laurent — this hopeful Met Gala pairing would double the family fashion moment.
Teyana Taylor and Rue

Teyana Taylor was such a highlight of the 2026 awards season earlier in the year that the venerated singer and Oscar-nominated actress earned a spot on the host committee for the upcoming Met Gala. Though the “One Battle After Another” star proved her high fashion prowess at the last five Met Galas, bringing along her daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, could take Taylor’s 2026 Met Gala appearance to a new level.
At the Actor Awards in March, Taylor was accompanied by her 5-year-old, who played assistant to her mother by fixing the skirt of her Thom Browne dress. Taylor and Rue Rose’s potential Met Gala appearance could even be an opportunity for a mini-me, or mommy and me, fashion statement.
Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber

While both Cindy Crawford and her equally famous daughter Kaia Gerber have attended the Met Gala on separate occasions, they’ve never made a joint appearance. Gerber’s recent appearances include the 2021, 2022 and 2024 Met Galas, while Crawford attended the 2016 and 2018 editions of the event. A joint appearance by the model mother-daughter duo feels like it could happen any year now.
Lisa Rinna and Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray

Between Lisa Rinna and her two daughters, 27-year-old Delilah Belle and 24-year-old Amelia Gray, it’s only Amelia who’s attended the Met Gala in the past. Amelia attended the 2025 and 2024 editions of the event. To have the trio on the red carpet come May would be a fashion triple threat.
The 2026 Met Gala will take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4. The 2026 Costume Institute Benefit will double as a kickoff for its spring exhibition, “Costume Art,” which opens May 10 and will run through Jan. 10, 2027. The dress code for the Met Gala, “Fashion Is Art,” follows suit with and nods to the exhibition.
