Timex and ‘Harry Potter’ Debut New Collaborative Collection

Timex is collaborating with “Harry Potter” on a collection of watch designs inspired by the popular book series and film adaptations. The collection has launched, with styles available on Timex’s website.

“At Timex, we love creating products that connect people to the stories they love,” Shari Fabiani, chief marketing officer of Timex said in a statement to WWD.

“‘Harry Potter’ has a remarkable ability to bring generations together through shared memories and house pride. With this collection, we translated that spirit and turned it into something you can wear every day. It serves as a reminder that time is the one magic we all share, and that what you choose to do with it is entirely your own.”

The Timex x “Harry Potter” collection features unique designs incorporating iconography from the books and film series. Styles include nods to the fictional Platform 9 3/4, Butterbeer and the sorting hat. A weekender design also features an Indiglo backlight that reveals the colors of each Hogwarts house — red for Gryffindor, yellow for Hufflepuff, blue for Ravenclaw and green for Slytherin.

Prices for selections from the collection range from $139 to $549, with the Timex x “Harry Potter” Waterbury Skeleton Automatic design retailing for the latter price. The design features the ornately crafted Hogwarts emblem, with skeletonized 21-jewel automatic movement revealed through the dial.

Beyond the variations of the Weekender of Waterbury Skeleton Automatic design, Timex’s minimalist Hailey model with a gold-tone rectangle case includes four crystal markers in the house colors of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

Timex’s collaboration with “Harry Potter” is the latest in a string of the brand’s past partnerships with the likes of American men’s clothing brand Noah and Jacquie Aiche, among others. The “Harry Potter” collaboration also comes ahead of the forthcoming HBO Max TV series adaptation of the original book series, which debuts Dec. 25.
