When asked about the kitchen essential everyone should own, she recommended a childhood staple you need to acquire ASAP that’s perfect for everything from pasta bakes to holiday traditions.
“Everyone needs a 9×13 pan,” she said. “My boyfriend makes an obscene mac and cheese—uses the fanciest cheese, calls pasta ‘orecchiette,’ I’m like, you can just say shells. And I make a noodle kugel. That’s my dish. People are like, ‘What is this heavy Jewish noodle dish?’ Just taste it. It’s the best thing ever.
Both stick to the pan, though—used to be overnight soaks. Now, spray, rinse, done. Also, I love making too much of something and keeping it in the fridge.”
