HIS AND HERS: For one season, Kenzo will break from the coed trend with a show dedicated to its men’s fall 2025 collection on January 24 during men’s fashion week in Paris, according to WWD.

The women’s fall 2025 collection will have its own presentation during Paris Fashion Week, set for March 3 to 11.

In an exclusive update to WWD, Kenzo indicated a renewed emphasis on its womenswear.

“This choice comes after three years of creative development under artistic director Nigo, who has established a solid foundation for Kenzo’s menswear,” the brand stated. “With the men’s wardrobe now well-defined and evolving, we are excited to take Kenzo’s women’s line in a bold new direction, presenting designs that honor the brand’s legacy while integrating a dynamic and contemporary view.”

To this end, the house has “brought on a new womenswear creative team under the direction of a recently appointed design director who collaborates closely with creative director Nigo. Their vision and experience will play a crucial role in the ongoing creative evolution of the brand.”

The new design director, Joshua A. Bullen, previously served as the design director for ready-to-wear at Givenchy.

Kenzo plans to revert to a coed format for the spring 2026 show scheduled for next June.

WWD’s review of Kenzo’s spring 2025 show suggested that Nigo should “continue to refine his vision for womenswear, which has not yet reached the level of clarity seen in menswear.”

Nigo, recognized as the founder of A Bathing Ape and a pioneer in streetwear in Japan, took over the creative direction at Kenzo in September 2021.

Upon his appointment, he praised house founder Kenzo Takada’s “ability to create originality through an understanding of diverse cultures, a philosophy that resonates with my own approach to creativity.”
