FKA twigs did not ease up on height for latest “Mother Mary” press stop. At A24’s New York special screening of the film at Metrograph on Monday, the singer and actor returned to Marc Jacobs’ Kiki platform ankle boots, revisiting the same buckled silhouette she has worn multiple times, including at a 2024 Met Gala after party.

The rounded-toe, 3-inch platform style featured a thick front lift, a tall block heel and a ladder of five curved buckle-fastened straps running across the foot and ankle.
Twigs wore the black leather pair with an ivory Ashi Studio spring 2026 couture look that pushed the shoes into even harder relief. She paired the boots with a tightly corseted dress featuring exposed seaming, a sheer bra panel, long fitted sleeves and a distressed, gauzy skirt that opened high at one leg.

That choice also sat neatly inside Twigs’ recent footwear run. Across Coachella weekend one, she wore more than one custom high-impact stage pair. On Saturday, she cycled through multiple pairs of high-impact boots, including custom pairs from both Giuseppe Zanotti and Madomorpho. The Metrograph appearance did not break from that lane. It extended it, only with a more controlled, press-facing finish.
The original Kiki first debuted on the fall 2016 runway, and the shape has stayed one of the brand’s clearest platform signatures since. Twigs has plenty of other towering shoes in her orbit, but Kiki reads differently on her because she keeps coming back to it. She wore the ankle-height Marc Jacobs pair after the 2024 Met Gala, pulled it back out for the New York premiere of “The Crow” that August, and now returned to it once again.
“Mother Mary” hits select theaters Friday and expands nationwide April 24. Twigs appears in the film and also wrote “My Mouth Is Lonely for You,” which Anne Hathaway performs on the soundtrack.
