Chanel Brow Artist Jimena Garcia Talks Met Gala 2026 Brow Trends

Jimena Garcia, Chanel’s brow artist, technically started her career in art history.

So it’s only natural she’d be watching the 2026 Met Gala eyebrow trends closely.

“I’m anticipating a shift towards a thinner, more tailored brow. I think we’ll see a refined, sophisticated aesthetic — beauty that leans into linear, polished lines,” she said. “The trend seems to be moving toward a more perfected, porcelain-like finish, where brows are sleek, precise and seamless [and] complement the overall look of modern, refined beauty.”

Garcia has long been the insider’s go-to for all things brows (a quick scroll through Instagram shows her work with Phoebe Tonkin and Chloe Fineman), and her technique ranges from color and proportional tweaks to looks specific to big red carpet moments, ranging from the Met to awards shows.

“Prepping for the Met Gala is all about precision and theme. I usually start by reviewing the theme, since it sets the tone for the entire look. Then, for brows, I plan early,” she said. Although she’s stayed mum on what her clientele has in store, “I make sure the shape and grooming align with the overall aesthetic, whether that means a bold, structured brow or a soft, natural vibe. I give the brows some extra love with conditioning serums leading up, and the day of, I make sure they’re perfectly set to last through all the cameras and lights.”

The trend towards thinner brows is a shift from years past. “Over the past couple of years, my Met Gala clients have embraced an elevated, natural brow aesthetic,” she said. “I’ve worked with some incredible talents who wanted a refined yet effortless look — brows that highlight the face without overpowering. The focus has been on enhancing natural beauty in a way that feels timeless and elegant.”

On the product front, Garcia is leaning into Chanel’s Stylo Sourcils Haute Précision Microfine Defining Eyebrow Pencil, “which allows me to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes with extreme precision. It’s perfect for achieving that polished, linear elegance,” she said. Similarly, Chanel’s Sublimage Le Sérum Yeux Ultimate Eye Serum “tightens the skin around the eyes, smooths the look of wrinkles and fine lines, and diminishes the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, plus leaves lashes and eyebrows looking fuller.”
