PARIS — Zoe Saldaña, the Academy Award-winning actress, has been named a global ambassador for Lancôme.
“I like the broadening of the narrative of what it means to be a woman — a full, whole woman — in every different stage of her life,” Saldaña said. “So knowing that I am among amazing women like Christy Turlington, it makes me feel like part of a wonderful community of women supporting each other.
“We are coming face forward, and we are saying: To grow in life, to be wiser, to be older is beautiful,” she continued. “I love Lancôme is really advocating for and celebrating that.”
Saldaña has been familiar with Lancôme since she was a child. “I remember seeing the brand,” she said, adding in its commercials the women looked wholesome — beautiful and natural.
Her relationship to beauty products evolves. “Skin changes,” Saldaña said. “It’s in its own growth and its journey. Being in tune with your skin is really important, so I’ve never been the kind of person that depends on products to feel strong and feel beautiful. But I have always been the kind of person that when I find that one product, I’m loyal to it for life.”
Saldaña is a huge mascara fan. “Throughout my life, I always look to Lancôme for great mascara,” she said, adding her eyelashes have changed and with that the mascara of choice. “I remember when I had just miles of all of those lashes that were just beautiful and dependable. Now, it’s about working with the mascara product that enhances what you have there, but not in its full abundance anymore.”
She’s partial to Lancôme’s Lash Idôle Curl Goddess Mascara. “I get that instant lift, that major volume from it,” Saldaña said. “I’ve been stoked about that one.”
For her, beauty is an evergreen evolution of who one is.
“Just like your character is, just like your life should be — your life’s journey,” she said. “We’re all sort of finding our way. In doing so, if we’re wise about it, we allow ourselves the space to try different things. Sometimes that comes in the form of: You’re trying a different voice for yourself. You’re trying a different hair length. You’re also trying different colors that make you feel powerful and beautiful, and give you that sense of relevance and presence. Most of us don’t have that figured out until we’re very mature.”
The goal, Saldaña said, is to own one’s own beauty.
“That’s powerful,” she said. “That takes courage, that takes character, but also that takes experience of you knowing what it’s like when you don’t follow your voice.”

Saldaña likes Lancôme’s doctrine of fearless optimism. “It means that you’re making a choice to always try to be helpful, to work with what you have, to embrace what you have,” she said. “Because in doing so, you’re able to see other women around you: before you, beside you, behind you.”
Saldaña said in choosing to be positive, finding joy, embracing and being grateful for things in life, “that to me is what it means to be fearlessly optimistic about who you are and where you’re always heading.”
Vania Lacascade, Lancôme global brand president at L’Oréal, said: “Zoe is an actress, is a woman that is defined by both scale and substance.”
After blockbuster film franchises such as “Avatar,” “Star Trek,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Avengers,” Saldaña early in 2026 became the highest-grossing actor of all time.
“She’s managed, year after year, to shape a global storytelling across cultures, across generations, and at the same time, she’s maintaining a real fierce sense of identity,” Lacascade said. “She brings this perspective that is quite grounded.”
Lacascade said Saldaña embodies a connection with women and a positivity for life.
“She’s living the philosophy we have at Lancôme, this philosophy of optimism — that optimism is a conscious choice,” Lacascade said. “It’s a way to inspire and to invite women to engage with the world with intention and openness.”
Last year, Saldaña won the Academy Award for best supporting actress in the Netflix crime musical “Emilia Pérez.” In that she plays the role of Rita, which was also recognized with Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, SAG and BAFTA awards.
Saldaña recently finished production on Season Three of the undercover CIA drama series “Lioness,” by Taylor Sheridan. She stars in that with Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman. Saldaña executive-produces films through Cinestar Pictures, which she founded with her sisters Mariel and Cisely Saldaña in 2013.
Saldaña will first be the face of Intercept, part of Lancôme’s recently launched Absolue Longevity MD line. Its product formulas are centered on Longevity Integrative Science, billed to proactively improve the look of skin’s visible biological age.
She joins a collective of global ambassadors for Lancôme that includes Turlington, Julia Roberts, Olivia Rodrigo, Isabella Rossellini, Aya Nakamura and Vanessa Kirby.
