Zendaya incorporated “something borrowed” into her “The Drama” method dressing wardrobe for the film’s Rome premiere on Thursday night, styling the Giorgio Armani Privé gown Cate Blanchett wore to the 2025 Venice Film Festival.
Styled by Law Roach, Zendaya’s custom Armani Privé sleeveless gown featured a plunging neckline with statement black gemstones lining the design from the shoulders to the waist of the dress. A formfitting silhouette was given a sculptural bent with the extended pockets featured on the dress at the hips.

Flowing down the red carpet, the gown also incorporated a short train that trailed Zendaya. As for jewelry pieces, the actress wore earrings and a ring courtesy of Louis Vuitton. Zendaya serves as a global brand ambassador for the French luxury fashion house.
The actress’ “bixie” cut was styled with a side part and playful curls to frame her face. Makeup highlights included smoky eyes and bold brows with a soft glossy lip as the finishing touch. As part of the method dressing approach Zendaya is taking to her “The Drama” press tour, the Armani Privé gown represents the actress’ “something borrowed” — a reference to the bridal “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” detail quartet.

Blanchett wore the Armani Privé gown at the “La Grazia” premiere during the Venice Film Festival in August 2025. The two-time Oscar-winning actress serves as a global beauty ambassador for Giorgio Armani, and has worn pieces by the late designer in the past.
Zendaya’s bridal-inspired style streak has also featured “something old” at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards on March 12, with the actress wearing the memorable Eugene Alexander dress previously worn by Whitney Houston in March 1987 and again by Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in the “Sex and the City” 2008 film.
