A new exhibit at Kensington Palace, “Dress Codes,” showcases royal fashion and its impact. The exhibit features 10,000 objects spanning 500 years, including pieces worn by Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret, and Queen Victoria. The exhibit highlights Princess Diana’s fashion choices, including a red Bruce Oldfield gown, a green tweed jacket, and a Catherine Walker velvet tuxedo dress. The exhibit also features a digital collaboration with Google Arts & Culture, providing access to nearly 200 garments from the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, including items worn by Princess Diana. The technology allows viewers to examine each garment in high resolution, offering insights into craftsmanship, history, and conservation. The exhibit runs through November 30 and can be viewed online on the Google Arts & Culture page.
