Although lactonic, milky scents have exploaded in popularity over the last few months, it appears that perfume milks are set to be one of 2026’s biggest fragrance trends. At the end of January, viral perfume brand NOYZ released what it calls the Mylk De Parfum—aka a fine fragrance in the form of a “body milk.” Two of my favorite beauty categories in one formulation? I was listening. Malena Higuera, NOYZ’s chief operating officer, clued me in on the thinking behind it: “For decades, the experience of wearing fine fragrance has looked almost the same.” And for her, that sameness created a “clear opportunity to…rethink how fragrance could live in people’s daily routines without compromising performance.” She wasn’t wrong. The Mylk De Parfum formula doesn’t just smell good—it changes the entire experience of wearing scent.
You’re probably wondering, well, isn’t that just a body lotion? The answer is, not really. I know a thing or two about body lotions. Whether from the drugstore, the luxury aisle, or somewhere in between, I’ve tried them all. This burgeoning category marries fragrance and body care in a new, refreshing way. Fragrance milks have the consistency of a serum, with the potency of a traditional eau de parfum. They are the perfect combination in that they offer a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly into the skin without any tack, and, unlike traditional alcohol-based fragrances, the act of rubbing it into skin doesn’t make the scent disappear. If anything, the warmth from my body makes it project even more.
The entire experience of using a perfume milk is markedly different from anything that I—someone who is really steeped in the world of perfume—have seen before. This is what true beauty innovation actually looks like.
Of course, this sent me down a research frenzy, and I realized that there are only three readily available body milk formulas on the market right now. Before I share them, let’s get into exactly how this format is poised to introduce something new and exciting in the fragrance space.

What Is a Fragrance Milk?
A fragrance milk is lighter than a lotion but thicker than a liquid, alcohol-based eau de parfum, and combines the benefits of both. “Mylk de Parfum delivers eau de parfum–level scent concentration and long wear in a format that fits naturally into your routine and feels incredibly personal to apply,” Higuera says. “It allows fragrance to be worn more generously, layered more intuitively, and experienced closer to the skin while proving that an alcohol-free format can perform as well as, or better than, traditional perfume.”
What I love about this burgeoning category is that it invites you to completely reinterpret how fragrance can be part of your routine. I’m someone who notoriously has hated that unpleasant, sticky feeling that some body products can leave behind. In contrast, fragrance milks are thin enough to be worn alone, adding a light veil of moisture to the body while offering a new way to play with scent in your beauty routine. They can even be added to preexisting lotion formulas or paired with your favorite body oil—because we all need as much moisture as possible during this frigid winter weater.
All of these methods leave behind a gorgeous scent trail because a perfume milk provides these traditional skincare benefits (NOYZ’s formula, in particular, also contains hyaluronic acid) is also highly fragrant. Basically, perfume milks completely reinvent how I interact with fragrance in my body care routine, and it’s what makes the space so exciting to watch.

Of course, the lady of the hour, NOYZ’s fragrance milk, specifically in the scent Only Human. While I have tried (and do enjoy) the full line, this scent in particular captures my olfactive personality perfectly. It’s warm, slightly molecular, and perfectly gourmand thanks to a vanilla bean note that smells like ice cream. It’s perfect to layer with pretty much anything in my fragrance wardrobe.

My absolute favorite scent from By Rosie Jane, aptly named Rosie, is also available in a body milk. This formula also includes aloe leaf juice, which adds an extra dose of hydration thanks to its humectant properties.

Fenty Beauty’s Butta Drop Hydrating Milk comes closest to that traditional “lotion” consistency that I’m used to. It still has the same liquid consistency as the rest of the milks on this list, but I find it offers a beautiful glow on the skin, thanks to the myriad of butters and oils in the formula. Expect the shea, mango, and cocoa butters paired with the Kalahari melon, Baobab, and coconut oils to leave your skin with a glistening shine that is a perfect one-and-done body care item.
