The Air Jordan 6 holds a special place in the hearts of collectors because it was the model worn by Michael Jordan in his first NBA title run, and one of the three colorways he put on that season is set to return next year.
The Air Jordan 6 Carmine is slated to release in spring 2027, six years after its last appearance on the market, according to a report from trusted sneaker leaker @zsneakerheadz. It deviates from the colorblocking employed on the other two editions Jordan wore in the 1990-91 season — Black Infrared and White Infrared — by featuring a red suede base with white leather overlays. Black is then used for the tongue, liner, heel spoler and a portion of the midsole, while the heel branding and spoiler stripe brings more red. In addition to white, the tri-color midsole also features translucent blue portions employed since 2014 to help prevent yellowing.
Upon its last release in 2021, the Carmine 6 brought back original Nike Air branding for the first time since its introduction 30 years prior. The detail is particularly salient because the Air Jordan 6 was the last model in the series to feature Nike Air branding until last year’s Air Jordan 40.
Although no photos have leaked next years release, it’s all but certain “Nike Air” will return once again, as Jordan Brand has made a point of bringing it back in recent years and will do so again for the Air Jordan 6 White Infrared later this year. The OG mark also appeared on the recent Salesman drop, which used a slight variant of the Black Infrared colorblocking that had previously never gone on sale.
The Air Jordan 6 Carmine will release in the spring 2027 fashion season through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but expect a $215 ask unless another price increase for the model comes in the next year.
