McLaurine Pinover, the communications director at the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM), has faced backlash for sharing fashion influencer videos on social media while thousands of federal workers are losing their jobs. Pinover shared over a dozen clips, including one of herself modeling a $475 skirt, on her Instagram account “getdressedwithmc”, which appeared to have affiliate links. Critics accused her of being tone deaf and unprofessional, given the recent layoffs. Pinover has since deleted her account. Pinover previously worked for the White House under Trump and holds a degree in political science from Auburn University. Former OPM staffer Jack Miller called her actions “absurd” and prioritizing fashion over supporting her team.
