Kate Hudson and Mindy Kaling returned to the red carpet on Wednesday night in Los Angeles for the second season premiere event of their Netflix comedy series “Running Point.”
Two-time Oscar-nominated actress Hudson turned to Brandon Maxwell‘s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection for her red carpet look. The “Song Sung Blue” star wore a sleeveless white halter dress with a billowing bodice that featured a Y2K-era bubble hem at the waist.

The skirt of the dress was streamlined and simple, with a column-style silhouette and hip pockets. Debuting during New York Fashion Week in February, Maxwell’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection marked “a more mature lineup with moments of sexiness, edge and ample sartorial wardrobing for the everyday,” Emily Mercer wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
Hudson accessorized her look with pieces of jewelry by Hoorsenbuhs. Hudson’s look was curated by styling team Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn.

“Running Point” creator Kaling went to the opposite end of the color spectrum for her red carpet attire. The actress wore a long-sleeve black dress with a sheer bodice and crystalized peekaboo bra layering cups for a touch of sparkle.
From the bustline of the frock, the skirt of the look flowed into a formfitting, column style with a small train that trailed Kaling on the red carpet. She accessorized her look with statement dangle earrings and a coordinated simple bracelet and ring. Kaling often works with stylist Erin Walsh, who’s curated Anne Hathaway’s “The Devil Wears Prada 2” and “Mother Mary” press tour looks thus far.

“Running Point” follows Isla Gordon, played by Hudson, who becomes President of the LA Waves basketball team after her brother enters rehab. The series chronicles her efforts to prove herself in the male-dominated sports world. “Running Point” Season Two hits Netflix on April 23.
