Joseph Duggar Child Molestation Arrest: Jill Duggar Speaks Out

Jill previously came forward as one of the victims of her brother Josh Duggar’s sexual abuse in 2015.

At the time, Jill participated in a sit-down interview with sister Jessa Duggar Seewald detailing the abuse they endured as young girls, while Josh was a teenager. (At the time, Josh—who was investigated by police at the time of the incidents in 2006, said in a statement to People, “ I acted inexcusably, for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends.”)

When her brother Josh was sentenced to 151 months in prison in 2021 for receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, Jill and her family addressed his conviction, writing in a since-deleted blog post that they were “neither rejoicing nor disappointed by the sentence.”

“It is unfortunate, but it seems that it may take spending over a decade in federal prison, and still more on probation, for Josh to have any potential for rehabilitation to the point he can safely live in society again,” the couple—who tied the knot in 2014—continued. “Hopefully, Josh can actually begin to get treatment and begin to work toward a lifestyle where he is less likely to reoffend.”

The pair added at the time, “We continue to love Josh and his family and will be there for them however we can.”
