Jessie Buckley Adds Modern Flair to Little Black Dress

Jessie Buckley hit the late night circuit in a classic little black dress, with modern styling, for her “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” appearance in New York City on Thursday night.

The Oscar-nominated “Hamnet” star wore a leather black midi frock with an asymmetrical neckline and slight fabric draping. The sleeveless dress served as the focal point of Buckley’s look, and she added a pair of pointed-toe black pumps to complete her attire.

As for accessories, Buckley kept things minimal with a pair of shimmering stud earrings. Her bobbed hair featured a side part, and makeup highlights included bold brows, lined eyes and a soft lip. Buckley has worked with stylist Danielle Goldberg throughout awards season and her promotional tours.

Following the success of eight-time Oscar-nominated film “Hamnet,” Buckley transitioned from awards season styling to dark glamour and goth inspiration for her upcoming film “The Bride!” Already the actress has promoted the film in London and in the United States ahead of the film’s release.

The Feb. 25 London photo call for the film saw Buckley in a look from Diotima’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection, while the London premiere of the film saw Buckley in a gown from Maison Margiela’s Artisanal 2024 collection by John Galliano.

Buckley’s dark glamour-themed, method dressing looks for her newest project are in stark contrast to the designer pieces the actress has worn throughout the 2026 awards season. Over the course of the last several weeks, Goldberg has styled Buckley in pieces by Dior, Balenciaga and Chanel, among other fashion houses and labels.

“The Bride!” stars Buckley as the titular paramour of Frankenstein, played by Christian Bale. The film follows the two through 1930s Chicago as public and police interest mounts amid The Bride and Frank’s violent spree.
