While everyone is scrambling and searching for the next “It sneaker,” Harry Styles is remaining faithful to his Adidas Samba sneakers. The singer was spotted walking around New York City on Tuesday, a common occurrence for him of late, and he opted for a pair of Adidas Originals Samba Decon Unisex sneakers.

The soccer-inspired shoe is similar to the Sambas OG, but with updated features. The Adidas Samba Decon is a premium, deconstructed version of the Originals Samba, and they are made with much softer, unlined leather with a collapsible heel that makes the shoe easier to put on. The OG offers a much more structured and rigid fit with traditional suede overlays and a dark brown gum sole.
The Decon removes those reinforcements, providing a lighter, more flexible, and comfortable fit and features a light brown gum and brighter gold foil details that make them stand out more. The shoes retailed for $150 on the Adidas website but are currently sold out. They were also available in white.

Styles kept his ensemble simple, opting for a vintage Nike U.S. Open Tennis Championship, New York 1994 sweatshirt. He paired them with dark-wash jeans, a black beanie, and Jacques Marie Mage’s Grand Prix Hickory sunglasses. The singer was among the first celebrities who were spotted bringing back the sneaker style when the Sambas began resurfacing around 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the time, certain fashion-forward celebrities like Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, Bella Hadid and more were spotted wearing the shoes. Highly coveted collaborations soon followed and sparked an even larger craze. The Adidas collab with British designer Grace Wales Bonner began in November 2020 and featured two Samba styles inspired by her Jamaican heritage.

Styles joined in on the trend, and was soon credited as one of the celebrities that popularized both the Adidas Gazelle and Samba sneakers, after he wore them repeatedly during his “Love on Tour,” which started in 2021 and ended in 2023. He was often spotted wearing his custom Gucci x Adidas Gazelles, wearing various colorways, which he sported for roughly 74 percent of the performances from that tour. He also wore a pair of Adidas x Gucci Gazelle in a metallic silver finish to perform at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Check out his shoe style evolution over the years.
