Cécred Saw Your Comments and Finally Launched Styling Products

Over the past two years, Cécred has steadily—and thoughtfully—expanded its product lineup. The Foundation Collection set the stage in 2024, introducing now-viral standouts like the Restoring Hair & Edge Drops and the Reconstructing Treatment Mask. Last year, the brand followed up with The Protection Collection, featuring innovative formulas like the Detangling Spray and Hair & Scalp Balm. Now, the Beyoncé-founded brand is ushering in its next chapter: The Styling Collection, one of the most-requested launches from fans.

Ahead, we spoke with the brand’s Director of Education, Dr. Kari Williams, to learn more about each of the six new products. I also had the chance to test them a month before launch—keep scrolling for my honest review.

The Inspiration

For Cécred, every product is born of an understanding of market gaps. Within the styling category, Dr. Williams says her team saw quite a few. “We looked at how people actually style their hair across textures and identified where the challenges consistently arise: heat damage, humidity reversion, breakage, and loss of definition,” she says. “Historically, there has been a trade-off between high performance results and long-term hair health, so we created a collection to close that gap.”

The debut Styling Collection includes the Thermal Shield Mist, Heat-Activated Silk Glaze, Volumizing Mousse, Wrap & Set Foam, Strong-Hold Gel, and Flexible-Hold Hairspray (and an Edge Brush to round out the lineup). “The six products in the Styling Collection address the core pillars of styling–heat protection, smoothness, volume, and varying levels of hold,” Dr. Williams adds. “Each formula was designed to achieve different looks while reinforcing the integrity of the hair. Styling should be an extension of your hair care, reinforcing the foundation, not compromising it.”

The Products

Let’s get into what sets these stylers apart. First, every product offers up to 450°F of heat and humidity protection. That level of defense comes from the brand’s StemShield Complex, a blend of shape-memory polymers, plant stem cell lipids, and black honey fermentation.

“Heat tools can reach up to 450°F, and without proper protection, that kind of heat can start to break down the hair’s internal protein structure,” Dr. Williams explains. “But true styling without compromise means protecting against all the elements that leave the hair fiber vulnerable, not just heat. Humidity, pollution, and the friction of constant manipulation all contribute to cumulative damage. By building a defense against this entire spectrum of stressors directly into our formulas, we shield the hair’s foundation from everyday environmental strain while ensuring the style lasts.”

While each formula in the collection will enhance your routine, Dr. Williams says the Heat-Activated Silk Glaze, in particular, has all the makings of the brand’s next icon. “It is a high-performance formula that activates with heat to deliver a sleek, glass-like finish,” she says. “Because the lightweight glaze coats and smooths the cuticle so effectively, you can achieve the look with fewer passes of the flat iron, which is always better for the long-term health of the hair. It also locks out humidity while leaving the hair soft and fluid instead of stiff or coated. Achieving that balance between high shine, longevity, and movement is rare.”

My Review

I’m always thrilled to be invited to Cécred salon days to test the brand’s latest innovations. In February, I headed to a salon suite in New York to meet with members of the Cécred team—including Dr. Williams and lead global stylist Neal Farinah—to learn more about the Styling Collection and try it for myself.

That day, I was aiming for a big, bouncy blowout, so the stylists tailored a routine using products from both The Foundation Collection and The Styling Collection. At the wash bowl, we started with the Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, then followed up with the Reconstructing Treatment Mask since I’ve been using a lot of heat on my hair lately. Pro tip: Farinah recommends placing a warm, damp towel over your head while deep conditioning to help the formula penetrate more deeply. After rinsing, my curls felt incredibly soft and hydrated.

Once we were done shampooing and conditioning, I moved to the styling chair to prep for the blowout. My stylist, the lovely MariLynne Cosmillo, applied the new Thermal Shield Mist and Volumizing Mousse to my damp hair before beginning the blow-dry with a round brush and dryer. We also added a few rollers to build even more body and movement. To finish the look, she misted on the Flexible-Hold Hairspray to lock in the curls and add shine. (Fun fact: Farinah told me he used the hairspray on Beyoncé throughout the entire Cowboy Carter tour)

The result? A 10/10 blowout. The mousse gave my roots impressive lift, leaving me with voluminous, Texas-worthy hair, while the lightweight hairspray delivered the shine and hold my heavy, dense strands needed.

IMO, these new launches are smart, thoughtful, and truly well-executed. The elevated formulas and performance were immediately apparent in how my hair looked and felt after the salon session. The fact that each product is infused with heat protection truly stands out to me as someone who is always worried about damaging my curls when using flat irons or blow dryers. I’m excited to continue testing the collection at home and experiment with different styles.
