David keeps duking it out with Goliath online in Europe’s skin care space, data from CreatorIQ data attests.
Erborian, the L’Occitane-owned French Korean skin care brand, topped the ranking in February, according to earned media value, or EMV, CreatorIQ’s proprietary metric gauging performance and viral impact on various social platforms. Next up were three L’Oréal-owned brands — Garnier, La Roche-Posay and CeraVe — then Nivea, from Beiersdorf in Germany, and Medicube from South Korea.
Skin care is a high-growth category. “We’ve seen it driving a good amount of momentum,” said Alex Rawitz, director of research and insights at CreatorIQ.
He considers the category to be more competitive than beauty overall. “There’s a focus on innovation and science-backed products, as well as natural products, that have led to a groundswell of newer brands — brands founded in the last 10 years or so — accelerating quickly,” Rawitz said. “As well as some longstanding natural brands seeing a revival.”
TikTok and Skin Talk’s emergence are buoying this. “Medicube is a brand that has rocketed up our internal rankings,” Rawitz said. “Erborian is another that fits that profile. A lot of these brands, in addition to their focus on natural ingredients, have a specific K-beauty philosophy behind them.”
Skin care’s star power is far-reaching, CreatorIQ data shows. Overall in Europe, beauty brands averaged 12 percent on-year EMV growth in February 2026 versus February 2025, whereas skin care brands averaged 48 percent. For February 2026 against January 2026, skin care brands averaged 18 percent EMV gains versus beauty’s 7 percent decline.
