Recently, I’ve been getting subtle signs that my next trip should be to South America, specifically Brazil. I don’t know what it is about my algorithm that knows me so well but I’ve been inundated with beauty hauls from influencers who hail from the country, so much so that I’ve slowly started building my own collection right here at home. The more I learn, the more I realize: Body care is a big deal in Brazil.
“Body care is deeply rooted in Brazilian culture,” Sissi Freeman, director of marketing & sales at Granado, tells me. “We live in a tropical country with warm weather, beaches, and an outdoor lifestyle, so taking care of the skin is essential. Brazilians shower multiple times a day, and personal care is seen as a daily ritual.” She adds the in Brazil, self-care is about feeling fresh, confident, and connected to yourself.
As a native of the Caribbean, this tracks. Hot weather means more sweating, and growing up, I’d sometimes shower up to four times a day during the peak summer months. Each shower came with reapplying lotion, powder, and/or a little spritz of perfume. When you’re hot all the time, you tend to take your body care routine to some rather extra (but necessary) heights.
Ahead, Freeman explains why Brazilian or “B-Beauty” is starting to trend, and I share the Brazilian beauty products that have become firm staples in my routine, especially as we start to transition into the spring months.

Why Is B-Beauty Trending?
We are in the middle of an unprecedented fragrance boom in the beauty industry. B-Beauty is perfectly poised to fill the ever-growing space that is the intersection of fragrance and body care.
“Brazil is one of the world’s largest perfumery markets,” Freeman tells me. “Because of the warm climate, Brazilians tend to naturally layer scents throughout their shower routines. They start with scented soaps, follow with cologne, and continue refreshing their fragrance over time, creating a lasting feeling of freshness.”
In Brazil, body care is more than just a performative ritual. It’s one of the easiest and most functional ways to connect with oneself. I can personally attest to the power that fragrance and a good body care routine can have on mental health, and in Brazil, this practice seems to be simply a way of life. This belief system is one I will adopt for the foreseeable future, and with the body care boom hot on our heels, it won’t be long before the rest of the beauty industry follows suit.
What Are Some Popular Body Care Ingredients In Brazil?
While I’m not currently in South America (rude), there are a few Brazilian beauty brands available in the United States. There are also a few star ingredients worth keeping an eye out for as you build your B-beauty stash.
“Murumuru butter, Brazil nut oil, and shea butter are some of the country’s most iconic ingredients, known for their nourishing and moisturizing properties,” Freeman tells me. “Brazil is home to the world’s largest rainforest, and many of these ingredients come from long-standing traditions rooted in nature and passed down through generations.”
Brazilian beauty bridges product performance and respect for the environment in such a beautiful way, and many of the products that I’ve been using reflect this harmony. If you’re ready to build your B-beauty stash, keep reading for a curated list that you can use to start your journey.
Best Brazilian Beauty Products
Natura
Cacau Hydrating Brazilian Body Lotion
This brand is the reason I’ve been showering three times a day over the past few weeks. I’ve never had this much fun testing a body care line, and it’s because everything smells phenomenal. I’m a particularly big fan of this Cacao body lotion and the matching hand cream, but the Castanha in-shower oil is up there on my list of favorites, too.
Nativa Spa by O Boticário
Madagascar Vanilla Body Oil
Another gem in the body care space is Nativa Spa. The brand offers a range of products, including hand creams and body mists, but I am particularly a big fan of the body oils and scrubs, which are often sold in sets that also include a matching lotion in a specific scent. If you’re a gourmand lover like I am, Madagascar vanilla is a great scent to start with.
Granado
Violeta Eau de Cologne
Granado is Brazil’s oldest pharmacy and apothecary, dating back to the 1870s. Today, it is still one of the country’s most popular destinations for beauty products, and the brand is particularly well-known for its perfumes. Violeta Eau de Cologne is next on my list to add to my B-beauty collection.
Costa Brazil
Vela Jungle Candle
Costa Brazil is one of the chicest brands out right now, and I have been a big fan of its fragrances. That being said, if you have yet to try the candles and home scents from this line, you’re seriously missing out. Plus, there are new shimmer body oils that will be added to my routine very shortly.
Sol de Janeiro
Delícia Drench Jet Set
Sol de Janeiro has gone viral enough times that you likely already know and love it. So, I have to rave one more time about my favorite scent from the line, Cheirosa 59. It’s a stunning vanilla orchid and sheer sandalwood scent that somehow simultaneously feels super dainty but has beast-mode projection. This scent also comes in my favorite product formulation from the brand of all time: Delícia Drench—i.e., a super-hydrating shower oil.
Skala
Brasil Divine Curls 2 in 1 Treatment Cream
Though I have yet to try this product myself, I see it on my TikTok so often that I feel like it’s inevitable that it will end up in my collection. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a beloved brand in Brazil, and this deep conditioner delivers hydration throughout your hair. It is particularly well-suited for people with curly hair, and with the way winter has been doing a number on my hair, I will definitely be adding this to my cart.
