It’s just as much of an accessory to how you present yourself to the world as your clothing (and let’s not forget its close ties to memory and emotion). With that in mind, we’re launching Fragrance Wardrobe, a scent series that highlights the rotating perfume “wardrobes” of our favorite tastemakers through key points in their life. Get to know them better via the scents they choose to wear.
Beyond the iconic velour tracksuits, fragrance has played a pivotal role in Juicy Couture’s glamorous universe. At the center of the brand’s luxe scent library is Viva La Juicy, a playful perfume known for its amber, floral, and gourmand notes. So it’s only fitting that, as Juicy Couture celebrates 20 years in fragrance, it’s expanding its signature scent with a new addition: Viva La Juicy Elixir, an intensified, more decadent take on the original.
The perfume’s launch campaign stars none other than Angel Reese—the two-time WNBA All-Star and the brand’s global ambassador. “I’ve always loved Juicy Couture,” she tells Byrdie. “I remember when I first sprayed their perfume years ago and thought it felt extra in the best way. The brand’s energy really matches mine: feminine but confident, bold and unapologetic.”

When I was younger, I loved sweeter scents, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve started appreciating fragrances that feel a little more layered.”Â

“Right now, I’m really into fragrances that make a statement. Even when I’m on the court, I still want to smell good. Viva La Juicy Elixir is exactly the kind of scent I gravitate towards. I love a scent that’s bold at first, but then is sweet underneath. That mix feels powerful but still soft, which is the energy I like to bring on and off the court.”
