Your perfume isn’t just how you smell—it’s how you feel when you get dressed in the morning, for a night out, for a boardroom meeting. It’s just as much of an accessory to how you present yourself to the world as your clothing (and let’s not forget its close ties to memory and emotion). With that in mind, we’re launching Fragrance Wardrobe, a new scent series in collaboration with The Fragrance Foundation that highlights the rotating perfume “wardrobes” of our favorite tastemakers through key points in their life. Get to know them better via the scents they choose to wear.
It’s the Year of the Fire Horse—so naturally, self-professed horse girl Kendall Jenner is, well, on fire. Fresh off her viral “Kardashian Kurse” Super Bowl commercial, one thing is clear: Jenner is her most powerful when she’s having a lot of fun (both with and at herself). The model, brand founder, and The Kardashians star can now add newly minted Armani Beauty ambassador to her growing resume, as Jenner was recently announced as the face of Emporio Armani’s newest fragrance: Power Of You.
To me, it’s a divine fragrance match made in heaven. Power of You is a fruity gourmand, a cocktail of passionfruit and warm vanilla accord designed to “amplify presence and self-confidence,” according to the brand. In image alone, the fragrance is unequivocally captivating—the ruby-pink juice is tempting and sensual, and the bottle has an almost lit-from-within aura. From the hypnotic gold rings to the mirror-like cap, the details evoke a powerful, almost magnetic pull.
The scent itself is equally captivating: juicy without feeling tropical, dimensional without feeling complicated, and timeless without feeling too mature. It makes perfect sense that Jenner—a woman who is just as likely to wield her power on the runway as she is to protect a boundary—would headline the campaign. The fragrance is all about harnessing your unique, individual power. And as I learned when we sat down together during Milan Fashion Week, Jenner is a master of the craft. “I think definitely my earliest fragrance memories are my parents, like my dad’s cologne. I don’t remember exactly what it was, but I can smell it right now. And playing with my mom’s perfumes—I can physically imagine the bottles right now.”

The Evolution of Her Fragrance Wardrobe
“I think my fragrance journey is always changing, but I definitely know what I lean towards now. I think it’s still pretty versatile; it really depends on my mood sometimes. I have my whole array of fragrances in my bathroom, so it really depends on what I’m feeling. The majority of days you’ll catch me wearing something natural—I love essential oils.”
On Family and Friends as Fragrance Muses
“Oh my gosh, I think naturally we’ll sometimes smell our friend or smell a family member and be like, ‘What are you wearing?’ Anything that catches me and makes me be like, ‘What is that?, I need that,’ is definitely important to me. There have been those moments for sure, but I’ve also just learned along the way what I like.”

“In my everyday, I definitely lean towards something a little bit more on the calm, natural side. But I also do love the funness of something like Power of You, something that’s a bit more energetic. So I’m definitely excited for a summer vibe with [Power of You], it’s very fruity.”

“It depends on the strength of the fragrance. For my everyday scents that aren’t super strong, I’ll really get it on there—I’m a get it all over my clothes kind of person. But then, for something a bit stronger and more forward, I’d say I’m a mist and walk through. Just a lighter dust.”
How She Shifts Her Fragrance for Runway
“What I’ve had fun with in the past is wearing something really strong on the runway, that way when I walk by people they can smell me [laughs]. So I’ve definitely played with that. It’s just so vibe-oriented to me—where you’re going, who you’re seeing, and what you’re doing. Sometimes, it’s even about the city that you’re in. I’ve had friends who only wear this in this city and that in that city. And it’s noticeable, I’ll be like, ‘Oh, that’s your Paris scent!’ Fragrance can be a vibe-shifter for sure.”

“I’m huge into home fragrance, it’s one of my favorite things ever, and something that I explore all the time. In those wind-down moments, I lean into my essential oils or something that just smells really natural. Those can be very calming and very centering for me.”

“I’d say something that smells like nature, something almost cedar-y. I have this candle at my house, and the scent is called ‘Saddle’—It’s almost leathery and masculine in a way.”
