Coachella fashion continued to offer a vivid glimpse into youth culture.
The two-weekend event wrapped up Sunday night with Karol G cementing herself in the festival’s history as Coachella’s first Latina headliner. Other viral moments from the event included Justin Bieber’s YouTube karaoke session and Sabrina Carpenter’s surprise guest list spanning Madonna and Will Ferrel to Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon and more.
The fashion was as eclectic as the entertainment as many attendees pulling style references from the 2000s and 2010s.
Silver paillettes and crystal chain tops doubled as body jewelry. The blingy statement pieces were frequently paired with light to medium wash wide-leg jeans. One festival goer styled his bejeweled top with tapestry-print jeans and pearl wallet chains. Crystal embellishments decorated other denim pieces like long jean shorts, delivering a high-low look.
Metallic pants with zipper systems, white jeans splashed with primary color paints and baggy jeans with a clay finish were among the other denim highlights. Knee-grazing jean shorts were another staple—often amped up with cargo pockets, studding, grommets and lacing.
Elements of western also lingered. Trends spanned bold cow print jeans to cowboy hats and studded leather disc belts that bridged western and boho trends.
Denim was present onstage as well.
Olivia Rodrigo joined Addison Rae for a duet, dressed in Diesel’s low-rise boyfriend jeans with a dirty, vintage wash. Justin Bieber sported baggy jean shorts for his nostalgic set. Baggy jeans were a part of Pink Pantheress’ look for the second weekend, while backup dancers wore denim trench coats. Kacey Musgraves kept her look simple in a white tank, dusty boots and jeans with studding along the outside seam.
