FRESH FACE: British heritage brand Kent & Curwen, which is set to host a centenary celebration moment in London at the end of March, has named Chinese singer Xin Liu its latest global brand ambassador.
Known for her dance skills, musical aesthetics and androgynous personal style, Liu in recent years has emerged as one of China’s leading entertainers and fashion idols.
A trained dancer, she rose to fame as the top contestant on the reality show “Youth With You 2” and became a member of the Chinese girl group The9. In 2021, Liu started her solo career and has been working with a slew of major brands such as Dior, Sisley Paris and Ray-Ban.
Kent & Curwen said Liu’s self-expression and pursuit of artistic excellence make her a natural choice to reinterpret house codes for a new generation.
On March 31, Liu will make her first major appearance for the brand when she attends Kent & Curwen’s centennial runway show at Westminster School in London, which is set to spotlight the evolution of British preppy style and underscore the brand’s ambitions to revitalize its century-old legacy for today’s audience.
Under the ownership of the Guangzhou-based Biemlofen, which acquired the brand alongside Cerruti 1881 in 2023, Daniel Kearns was appointed chief creative officer of Kent & Curwen. He has been building a younger and more international modern appeal while expanding the brand’s retail footprint in the Greater China market.
