Loeffler Randall, Underwear Weaving Release Collaborative Bag Capsule

Just in time for a spring’s warming temperatures, Loeffler Randall and Underwater Weaving have teamed up to release a playful collaboration of limited-edition basket totes.

The partnership came to life through the longtime friendship of Jessie Randall, Loeffler Randall’s cofounder and creative director, and Erin Pollard, founder of Underwater Weaving. In 2023, the duo launched a monthly craft club, where they created Hawaiian leis, woven baskets, still-life paintings and natural dyed scarves with friends. Prior to their collaboration, Randall previously told WWD she was inspired to collaborate with swim and activewear label Left on Friday last summer after being introduced to the brand by Pollard.

“Erin and I have been friends for years and are cofounders of our own craft club, so collaborating on these basket totes felt like a natural extension of our shared creative spirit,” Randall told WWD. “Both of our brands are rooted in a commitment to quality materials and thoughtful craftsmanship, with the goal of creating pieces that spark joy and can be worn for years.”

The capsule features Underwater Weaving’s well-known handmade rattan Retro-Travel Tote and marry the brand’s playful meets crafted ethos through its two exclusive colorways, lemon and cacao stripes and mint and red stripes, which play into Loeffler Randall’s latest collection of ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories.

“I crave objects and clothing that tell a story. What I’ve always loved about Jessie’s designs is the way the collections infuse familiar handcrafted details and codes that capture a particular nostalgia for my New England childhood,” Pollard said in a statement. She added that collaborating with Randall brought forth this spirit of crafty, cheeky “Americana” with joyful spring touches.

The limited-edition totes, $395, will be available exclusively on Loeffler Randall’s e-commerce and in their retail stores in New York City, Nashville and Charleston, S.C.
